Walker Lake

Walkers Lake, Victoria was just another dry lake bed in the Wimmera region. Since early 2016 the lake has transformed with a new boat ramp installed and the return of much-needed water from the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline. With water back in the lake, Walkers Lake has become a popular free campground for campers, with recreational skiing and fishing.

WHAT TO DO NEAR WALKERS LAKE?

Apart from walking, swimming, fishing skiing, and relaxing on the banks of the lake. You can take a drive into the townships of Donald, St Arnaud, and Marnoo to see what these communities have on offer. One of our top recommendations is to call into Kookas Country Cookies for some of Donald’s local made biscuits and whilst you visit, even ask for a factory tour. If your looking for other free-range camping or low-cost camping options in the area consider Wooroonook Lake or Watchem Lake.
