Just cruising down the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory and yes it was another toilet stop needed. The closest place to pull up where we were was a place called Wauchope. Or better known as the Devils Marbles Hotel. This Outback Pub is without a doubt legendary, a little oasis in the outback that is a refreshing surprise to the norm of pubs along the highway.
Now we only spent an hour here, but we wish we could of stayed longer (unfortunately we were on our way home to Victoria and time was limited) and in hindsight we wish we new more about this place!! Why had we not heard the Devils Marbles Hotel or even a place called Wauchope?
To find this beauty of a pub, you will need to travel Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory of Australia. Its located North of Ti Tree and South of Tennant Creek. The pub is very close to the Devils Marbles or Karlu Karlu and its is literally is a surprise with beautiful gardens, a swimming pool and award winning dinning all on site.
This place is not full of memorabilia scattered on the walks like the iconic Silverton Hotel or the Daly Waters Pub, its unique in its own right. The Devils Marbles Hotel has the usual pub grub on offer as well as accomodation options to suit your budget. The pub acts as a roadhouse with fuel available as well hot food and cool drinks to take away.
Accomodation Options
Double Rooms, Single Rooms, Deluxe Cabins, Caravan Sites that include Powered and Unpowered as well as a Campground for Tents is available. For pricing on accomodation options, visit the Devils Marbles Hotel website for full details.
