Review: Crown Towers, Melbourne

It’s not every day you are lucky enough to get 2 free hotel upgrades in one day.  I mean this is stuff you can only dream of but yes it happened to us and it was everything we could dream of.  We review our stay at Crown Towers Melbourne – The Jewel in the Crown.

Now we must say, when we take a trip to Melbourne and it requires accommodation, we would normally stay at Crown Promenade. Nothing was out of the ordinary here. Crown Promenade had a ripper deal where we could stay for $250 and it included buffet breakfast, valet parking and a bottle of champagne. A pretty good deal considering we would normally pay $40 a day for valet parking and breakfast would normally be around $30 each plus your room cost.  We found this deal directly on their website!

We were travelling with friends as we were heading to see Florida Georgia Line in concert. Whilst we were on our way down to Melbourne, a 3 Hours drive from our home town we received an amazing phone call.

1st Upgrade

Crown Promenade called us to offers a free complimentary upgrade to Crown Towers. We were blown away. We had never stayed at Crown Towers as we simply couldn’t afford their prices. This was a dream come true to be able to say, WOW, we have stayed at Crown Towers. Bucket List Tick for us.  We were over the moon and we couldn’t wait to have this experience.

2nd Upgrade

When we arrived at Crown Towers we were greeted at the front counter. We were pumped to be there and when the staff member asked how we were, we couldn’t help but explain how awesome it was to be at Crown Towers after a transfer from Crown Promenade.

Whilst we were chit-chatting away, we did happen to mention that this was the best early wedding present we could get by having a stay at Crown Towers. We were getting in married in 2 weeks and just from that conversation our 2nd Upgrade occurred. We were offered a free upgrade from a Standard Room to a Premier Suite Room.  These rooms normally go for around $750 a night! Yes, JAW DROP! These rooms are for the rich – and maybe famous!

The Premier Suite Room

A stay in a Premier Suite Room at Crown Towers Melbourne is absolute perfection from start to finish. From the moment you enter the room, you are treated with joy and appreciation. Standing directly in front is panoramic views from the city to the bay. The decor, cleanliness, and comfort of the room is spot on!

The Entry

The room had 2-day beds to lay on, it was peaceful and relaxing just lying on the daybed watching the City Lights at night! A massive TV is in the lounge area with a study nook with an IPAD as your in-room directory. Nespresso Coffee Machine with Pods and a fully stocked Mini Bar is also provided.

The Bed

We can’t explain how much we love the Beds and Pillows from the Crown Resorts. It’s literally heaven. We were blessed with a king size bed with luxury cotton bedding. There have been countless times where we want to take the pillows home after our stay and guess what, you can actually purchase them from the Crown Shop!!  Have a look at the price tag though!

The Bathroom

Now this where perfection comes in at its finest. White fluffy floor mats, Double Vanity, Spacious Shower, Chandeliers and a TV above the Tub! Not to forget the Telephone in the Toilet either!  Such an incredible bathroom the best we have ever come across!

The Walk in Robe

The walk in robe boasts ample space to hang clothes and store your bags. The plush bathrobes and slippers are divine and there is an in house safe located inside.

The Thoughtful Extras

We are big fans of the mini toiletries, yes we use them and take them home. But we donate the unopened ones  to charity always. Crown Towers goes above and beyond when it comes to the Toiletries. Never in our life of hotel stays have we seen toiletries that consist of a Hair Brush, Hanky and Hair Ties! Bloody Awesome!

They also offer nightly turndown service. We had only ever experienced a service like this on a cruise ship, never during a hotel stay. If your not sure on what it is.  The turn down services is where the staff enter your room and “turn down” the bed linen in preparation for bed use. They also may provide an item of confectionary as well, for us, it was 2 Koko Black Mini Chocolates.

Breakfast at the Conservatory

Breakfast at the Conservatory was by far the best ever buffet breakfast we have come across. For chocolate lovers, you can’t go past the chocolate fountain! There was such a vast variety of food to select from. Full English Buffet, Omelette Station, Fruit, Yogurts, Croissants, Crumpets and Cakes. All delightful and to top it off with free barista prepared hot beverages!

The Overall Verdict

This place is 5 stars and it well and truly deserves it. If you want to treat yourself in luxury, do it here. High-End finishes and outstanding customer service. Their aim is to please! A stay here isn’t to be disappointed! Plus it’s the prime location to the CBD and you will capture some stellar photography of the city from your room or waiting for the lifts.  Prices do start from around $299 however even the standard rooms feel luxurious and special. Crown Towers is certainly ticked off our bucket list and to this day we can’t believe our luck on that particular day. Not only did we have 2 upgrades we had other things that worked in our favor which made it so memorable!
